So today In this post I’ll review it. And i’ll cover all the good and bad aspects of the knife in detail. So that you can finally decide is it worth a buy or not.
Overall look and feel of the knife

The BK-2 has an overall length of 10-5/8″, a blade 5-¼” long. It’s a chunky knife which weighs around 1 pound or 16 ounces.
Due to its size and weight its best suited for heavy duty work like chopping wood for fire, preparing food or some odd jobs around camp site.
However if you’re planning an ultra lightweight backpacking trek along the mountain trail. Then maybe you should consider other lightweight knife.
Blade
The blade of the knife is made from quarter inch or 6.35 mm thick 1095 cro van steel. Which is perfect for splitting kindling, skinning game or chopping some onions. It is covered in a very durable non reflective black Powder coating which protects it from rust.
But also because of this black coating it’s sometimes hard to spark a ferro rod with the spine. Also bk-2 is not a stainless steel knife. And it will rust when exposed to moisture if it’s not maintained properly. The BK-2 is full tank which means blade run the entire length of the knife through the handle and it is the strongest way to build a blade. And i have to admit this tank is thick, it can handle any kind of abuse. It has a classic drop point blade shape.
This makes it a perfect tool for piercing, poking. And other bushcraft tasks like drilling holes or do some carving work. The blade edge is a flat grind and is a good all-round choice for survival utility knife. Because it’s strong and easy to sharpen in the field.
Handle ergonomics
Handle slabs on the BK-2 are fashioned out of zytel (high density plastic) , which is tough, glass filled nylon material. The scales are tough and slightly textured.
The finishing work on the handle is great, rounded wide ergonomic curves. And great balance of this knife, makes BK-2 very comfortable to hold and use. An oversized lanyard hole.
And a generously exposed pommel that can be used for hammering, crushing tree barks for tender is present in this knife. This is a very basic and highly functional handle design. And executed perfectly for a workhorse knife like this.
Sheath
The BK-2 comes complete with one of the nicest quality kydex type sheath. It is simple, lightweight and sturdy. It has an excellent retention force, knife snaps firmly into its place. And the handle is secured with a nylon strap.
With this arrangement, I was not the least bit concerned about the blade ever falling out from the sheath. At the bottom we have a hole to allow water to drain through the sheath in wet weather.
The rivet holes and slots leave you with plenty of options for mole locks , tek-toks, paracord and webbing. Overall this is a good sheath and it compliments the knife perfectly.
