I think you’ll agree with when i say….

Morakniv Bushcraft Survival Knife is one of the finest bushcraft knife that is present in today’s market…..(According to me)

So today In this post I’ll review it. And i’ll cover all the good and bad aspects of the knife in detail. So that you can finally decide is it worth a buy or not.

Key Features

  • Fixed blade knife with 1/8-inch (3.2 mm) thick carbon steel blade with anti-corrosive black coating
  • Comes with good quality black plastic sheath
  • Have an ergonomic handle with high-friction rubber grip

Overall look and feel of the knife

The Morakniv Bushcraft Survival Knife is full tang fixed blade knife with an overall length of 9.1 Inches. A blade length of 4.3 inches and weighs around 5.4 oz.

Blade

The blade of Morakniv Bushcraft is made up of 4.3 inches long high carbon steel and have a thickness of 3.2mm or ⅛ inches. High carbon steels are very hard, which makes them good at resisting abrasion and retaining sharp edge.

You can easily perform batoning , chopping, kindling and still it holds a good edge. But because hard metals are also brittle. It is more likely to crack than bend when placed under extreme tensile stress. So be mindful of this before putting your knife under extreme stress. Also high carbon steel is vulnerable for rusting.

Therefore you have to take proper care of this knife. It is covered in Tungsten DLC anti corrosion black coating. It’s very durable and discoloured easily after use. But rubs off without any difficulty. It is also quite effective in preventing rusting.

The blade features a Scandinavian grind and back edge has a slight clip point design. Combination of both these things results in a very fine tip.

You can pierce through a number of materials without any effort, making it perfect for poking or drilling holes. Also, the back of the blade is grounded nicely to 90 degrees so that it can be used to scrap ferro rod to light fire.

Handle

The handle is made of textured rubber on the tang of the knife and it is very grippy. It has an ergonomic shape that fit my medium-sized hands well. And a front quillon that provides a reassuring contact point at the front of the grip.

There is jimping on the top of the handle to provide even greater thumb control. Even when the handle is wet, you will have a good grip over the knife. The contour of the grip is extremely pleasing to the hand.

Combined with the grippiness of the rubber, this handle has one of the most solid feels to it. One particular thing that I do not like about the morakniv is that they do not offer a full tang knife.

Instead their knives employ a modified rat tail that runs almost to the pommel. This will theoretically reduce the strength of the knife but I believe they have their own reasons to do so.

Sheath

q? encoding=UTF8&ASIN=B00BFI8TOA&Format= SL250 &ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=unguidedsurvi 20&language=en USir?t=unguidedsurvi 20&language=en US&l=li3&o=1&a=B00BFI8TOA

The sheath is included and comes with both a full loop and a belt clip. They are all made of a tough, semi-hard plastic, and the sheath has a drain hole at the bottom.

The sheath pivots freely in a full 360 degree arc from the loop or clip. It is actually a good sheath considering the price you are paying. There are other knives in the same price point which comes with a crappy nylon sheath. It is a lot better and easier to clean than those nylon sheaths.

The knife sits pretty tightly inside the sheath with the friction holding both together and it hardly rattles inside. You also have an option to buy the same exact sheath with a diamond sharpening stone. And a firesteel attached to the sheath but for that you have to pay more.

Pros
  • High quality material and well built knife.
  • Best budget bushcraft knife.

Conclusion

This is a great budget friendly knife for camping, hunting, backpacking, preppers, bushcraft, and for emergencies. And survival kits , bug out bags, extreme adventure and for anyone who wants a great performing knife for outdoor adventures.
